Doran Companies is proud to share that the City of Minnetonka recognized Alcott Apartments as a finalist in the 2025 Sustainable Minnetonka Awards under the Energy category.
Presented during the City Council meeting on April 21, the award celebrates projects that demonstrate exceptional commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation in energy-efficient design. The Alcott team received a commemorative plaque crafted from reclaimed ash trees removed from Minnetonka parks due to emerald ash borer—an emblem of the city’s dedication to sustainability and reuse.
Alcott Apartments exceeded energy code requirements through its inclusion of electric vehicle charging stations, enhanced stormwater management, occupancy sensor controls, ENERGY STAR® components, and convenient proximity to public transit. Together, these features reflect Doran’s ongoing commitment to developing communities that support both residents and the environment.
