Milwaukee Road Depot

Doran Special Projects (DSP), in partnership with CSM, transformed the train shed at the Milwaukee Road Depot into a state-of-the-art event space. DSP was brought on as the general contractor for the final phase of the 24,000-square-foot transformation of the shed into a new venue space to meet the rapidly growing demand for event space in Minneapolis. The area is comprised of four unique breakout rooms, a Great Northern Ballroom with a 40+ foot ceiling for events of up to 600 people, The Conservatory and an outdoor covered space. The Shed, one of the last long-span, trussed-roof structures in the nation, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and protected by the Heritage Preservation Commission.

The Depot was recognized with the Award of Merit, Renovation, Expansion or Tenant Improvement by the Minnesota Construction Association and named a Finance & Commerce Top Project.
