Sydney Hall awarded Project of the Year at MCA’s Awards of Excellence
BLOOMINGTON (2011) —
Sydney Hall was awarded Project of the Year at the Minnesota Construction Association’s
Awards of Excellence.
Sydney Hall is the first student housing development of Doran Companies in Dinkytown. It’s a
6-story building situated at 1501 University Ave. SE and consists of 125 housing units on the
top five floors, along with street-level commercial space. The project also involved the
renovation of the Dinkydome that is attached to it. Sydney Hall is located in the heart of
Dinkytown and the University of Minnesota’s East Bank Campus. This project covers an
expansive area of 200,731 square feet and includes a clubhouse, study room, a 24-hour gym,
and a dinky dome lounge. Doran Companies developed and constructed the project, and it was
finished in 2010.
The Minnesota Construction Association honors its members each year for outstanding recently
completed construction projects. The awards are presented at the Annual MCA Awards of
Excellence Gala at the Minneapolis Marriott West. Congratulations to all of the award
recipients!
