DORAN, PERKINS LEVIN BREAK GROUND ON SEVEN-STORY PROJECT

Partnership invests in long-term success of Northeast Minneapolis

Bloomington, MN. (January 25, 2022) – Partners Doran & Perkins Levin announced today they broke ground on a new multifamily development in the Northeast Minneapolis arts district located at 125 Lowry Avenue. The two highly experienced developers teamed up to deliver a 209-unit, six-story project with a range of studio, alcove, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments.

“We focused on delivering active in-demand amenity and community spaces,” said Danny Perkins, Partner at Perkins Levin, an entrepreneurial developer experienced in the Northeast Minneapolis market.

Designed by Doran, the residential building will contain maker and co-working spaces along with a pool, basketball and pickleball sport court, fitness center, grill stations, fire pit and entertainment suite. The skydeck will have sweeping views of the downtown Minneapolis skyline and the surrounding Minneapolis neighborhoods. The community is walking distance to many locally owned restaurants, retail shops, and breweries.

“Construction beginning signifies our commitment to this Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood,” said Anne Behrendt, CEO and Principal of Doran. “We are proud to have partnered with Perkins Levin to deliver an amenity-rich community unique to this submarket.”

The partnership closed on the land in late November 2021 and secured HUD financing for the project in late December 2021. The development being constructed by Doran is scheduled for completion summer 2023.
