Doran Multifamily Project Approved In Plymouth
Project Will Support Existing Nearby Office and Retail
Bloomington, MN. (March 22, 2022) On Tuesday, the City of Plymouth unanimously approved Doran Companies’ seven-story, 176-unit project located at 10000 State Highway 55 in Plymouth, Minnesota. Bassett Creek, the working name for the project, will consist of studio, alcove, one- and two-bedroom apartments and will include best-in-class amenities that are typical in Doran-developed properties. Those amenities include an outdoor pool, spa, fitness center, sauna, entertainment room, pet spa, and more.
“This project will help the City with their vision to reinvest in the eastern side of Plymouth, revitalizing local retail and attracting the next generation of residents to the City.” Said Anne Behrendt, CEO of Doran Companies. “We value that opportunity and look forward to bringing it to life.”
Designed by Doran Architecture, the 2.7-acre site is located adjacent to a retail center and east of the Bachman’s Garden Center along Highway 55. City officials approved a revised text amendment to the comprehensive plan from 20-35 units per acre and changed the zoning from business campus to a planned unit development (PUD) as well as raised height restrictions to make way for the seven-story project.
“We designed the project at Bassett Creek to transition between the modern glass office buildings to the east and the more traditional retail shopping center to the west. Our team used bold forms from mid-century modern inspired design that will be visually attractive to the public while contextually relating to the nearby shopping center.” Said John Ferrier President of Doran Architecture.
