BLOOMINGTON, MINN. – Doran Companies announced today that it has closed on the
purchase of The Offices at Marsh Run at 11816 Wayzata Blvd in Minnetonka, MN, and the
construction financing to redevelop the decades-old, more than 31,000-square-foot offic
property.
The Doran-designed 197 apartments will replace the existing three-building, two-story office
complex. Doran has already begun site prep work, including abatement and demolition, with
large-scale construction beginning in January 2024.
“When we first put this project under contract and started the entitlement process, it was a
very different economic environment for development. However, we maintained a
commitment to further advancing housing options in Minnetonka, and our lenders and partners
shared that long-term vision to get to this point,” explained Ryan Johnson, CFO and President of
Doran Companies.
The 4.3-acre project site is down the street from the Birke Apartments, also developed,
designed and constructed by Doran, which includes 175 units of multifamily living.
The new apartments range in size from alcoves to three-bedroom units. Amenities include a
fitness room, co-working space, amenity deck, entertainment suite, and more. Unique to the
area, the project will also feature a walking trail surrounding a beautiful wetland and pond. The
development has received tax increment financing (TIF) from the City of Minnetonka to offer
affordable units.
