Details: An empty 51,000 square foot former Planet Ford Car Dealership was converted into a new state of the art fitness facility to serve the St. Louis Park community. The landlord’s architect, Architectural Consortium, and its design team needed to accomplish the improbable. The transformation of several existing car maintenance bays and the showroom took place to integrate a new pool, racquetball, and basketball court. The entire exterior received a complete makeover including new EIFS, lighting and storefronts at the main facade as well as a new paint scheme throughout. The parking lot was resurfaced and new landscaping was added along the building exterior. This structure was then ready to accept an athletic facility on the cutting edge of style and functionality with the latest energy management systems controlling everything from the lap pool humidification system to the racquetball court lighting sensors. Major amenities at this location include: kids club, pool and spa, sauna, full locker room and showers, racquetball, basketball, volleyball, free weights, aerobics, cycling, group classes, and personalized training. This place went from tuning your car to toning your body.
